- What is
my project?
My project is a blog that tells my story over the past year. My hope is that it
will influence others who are having a hard time just like me. It will explain
both what has happened pain wise and how my life has been affected outside of
the pain itself. It will also go into detail about what we did about the pain,
why we did it, and what our other options were for dealing with the pain.
- Who will work with me on this project? I will be working alone on this project.
- Who is my audience/user base/client base for this project? This project will be made for anyone going through a tough time in their lives, specifically for those dealing with a lot of pain. It will probably have the most impact on those with tendonitis or complex regional pain syndrome (which is probably not a lot of people) but my hope is that it will impact those dealing with any kind of pain as well.
- Why is my project worthwhile? My project will hopefully give people struggling with pain the help, advice, and knowledge that they aren't alone that I didn't have while everything was happening to me. As I was in their place (and still am in their place) I know that that would have been extremely helpful even in my every day life.
- What do I expect to learn from this project? I expect to learn in more depth what I have to give to the world. I also expect to learn what it takes to run a website. And most importantly I expect to learn how I will feel telling my story (will it take away stress or give me more?).
-What product will I have to show at the end of the year? I will have a website on which the whole story of this past year and two months is published. I also hope to have some posts set to publish at future dates to encourage people who are reading the story at a later date.
- What sort of expenses will be involved in my project and who will I cover them? There will be no expenses involved in my project, I will be publishing my website with a free website host.
- What sort of equipment will I need and where will I get it? I will need access to a computer (which I already have access to) and internet (which I also already have) I may also need access to my medical records to put a timeline on my story. My mum has all of these records stored do that she has the information she needs for offshore insurance and different doctors so I will be able to access these.
- What is my timeline for completing (or launching) my project? I will be publishing my website by the end of next week and have at least the first installment of my story ready then. I will then slowly release at least 3 installments per week until the story is finished (by the end of May). As soon as the story is finished I will begin to work on the encouraging posts which will be released monthly starting a month after the last installment is released (this may change to weekly depending on how many posts I manage to write and how far out the host site allows me to plan for).

This is a wonderful idea. I am sure that you could help a lot of people who are struggling with a chronic disorder which causes them daily pain. I think you might be surprised how many people that number is. Just a quick note about the blog itself. You did this post as a "page" rather than a "post" and it made it a little hard to find. Also, I find the font to be a little too small in size.. or maybe I'm just old ;-)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think you are really brave for sharing your story.
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave for telling everyone your story! I am looking forward to reading all of your blogs. My only question is how are you going to share your medical background? How will you get your records?
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more about your project! I love being educated about illnesses that effect people and thier daily lives, and i find it very encouraging to see them "conqure" and help others with the same or similar issues. Id love to learn more about your project! Great job so far👍🏼
